"The Padma tomato variety is a popular, high-yielding hybrid known for its strong disease resistance (especially bacterial wilt), adaptability to rainy seasons, and firm, deep-red fruits with a long shelf life, making it great for both fresh and processing markets, particularly in tropical regions like Nigeria and Uganda."

VI. Spring 2025

The first three images below link to four videos showing Pastor Joshua and OMHI in April and May 2025 beginning the process of preparing a field to plant maize, beans, and g-nuts, i.e., groundnuts/peanuts, in the future for the orphans. In eastern Uganda, there are two rainy, growing seasons. The first season typically plants in March and harvests in July-August, while the second season is from August to January 1st. These seasons provide ideal conditions for growing various crops. The fourth image below links to a video in August 2025 showing Pastor Joshua spraying maize and beans with a natural pest control consisting of wood ash, onion, and water - which also adds some beneficial minerals to the soil.
